Kersten Butz​

Kersten has always known the "gym life" with being active since high school. However, once she had her daughter she struggled with getting back to her pre-baby body. It was then she decided to take her passion into a career and become a Certified Personal Trainer through NASM. She put her heart & soul into studying and still does today as she applies her knowledge and expertise into each and every individual client. She has transformed her body and hopes to do so for many others who may be going through what she did. She specializes in weight loss, hypertrophy and lean muscle building.


Melissa Garber

Mel graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Dietetics. She did an internship at Miami Valley hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Melissa has been a Registered Dietitian for over 25 years! While she recognizes exercise is one key component to a healthy lifestyle, the fact remains a balanced nutrition plan must also be considered for long terms. As a Registered Dietitian, Mel has the passion to help someone find a happy healthy balance with Nutrition.

Jarissa Gillaspy

Jarissa first started her fitness journey when she attended a BodyPump class and then decided she was going to become a certified instructor and work on her own fitness. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and holds 5 Les Mills certifications. She specializes in high intensity interval training, strength training, muscular endurance training, and core and stabilization.

Clay Maxfield

Clay Maxfield is a certified personal trainer that has been training for nearly 5 years. Aside from personal training he has also taught at Delphi Community School Corporation as an Advanced P.E./Weight training instructor along with middle school P.E. education. Outside of these endeavors he has also been coaching junior-high basketball for 6 years.

Clay looks to instill his passion and knowledge for fitness to anyone willing to learn, all the while aiding them along their journey to a healthier lifestyle. In his free time, Clay enjoys being outdoors with his beagle Bruce, and spending time with friends and family.

Sandra Morrow

Sandy is our Director of Fitness. She is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. She is also a Certified Pound Fitness Pro. Sandy is also one of the Jefferson High School Cheerleading Coaches as well as the League Head Cheerleading Coach for the Lafayette 56ers. In September 2016, Sandy competed in her first NPC body building competition and will be competing again in 2018. Being a healthy role model for her two daughters is her "why" and every day expresses the importance of physical activity, proper nutrition as well as self love/acceptance to them. Sandy believes that life is about balance and the healthy lifestyle works full circle. Giving her clients that individualized one on one attention based on their current health status as well as their goals is her focus.

Dusty Skees

Dusty grew up in the Lafayette area as an unhealthy and inactive person up until her 20s. Through lifestyle changes, she became active and fit and has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years now. She began with teaching group fitness classes, some of which were here at Club NewTone, and then became a AFAA Certified Personal Trainer in 2010. She specializes in muscular strength, toning, and circuit training. Dusty is the mother of 4 boys who she enjoys playing sports with and watching all of their sporting events.

Eric Winkler

Eric holds a certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Certified Personal Trainer. He attended Danville Area Community College where he played baseball as a pitcher and center fielder. He enjoys helping others improve the quality of their life. He specializes in muscle development, performance, and weight loss. His hobbies are spending time with his son, working out, watching sports, and playing men’s slow pitch softball on a travel team.

Kate Mercker

Kate has always had a passion for athletics and being physically fit. That passion was instilled in her from a young age from all of the time she spent on a court, field, or dance floor. In light of this passion, the Nutrition, Fitness and Health program was an obvious choice when deciding on what program to attend when furthering her education at Purdue University. After graduating from Purdue University she obtained her Personal Training Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. Kate has always enjoyed working with older adults and is a Certified Silver Sneakers Instructor. As Kate has been working as a Personal Trainer and Silver Sneakers Instructor for a year now she is even more sure that she has chosen her perfect career path!
